** 5 POINT PLAYOFF GAME FORMAT **

* EACH GAME IS WORTH 5 POINTS

* Each period is worth 1 point

* Winning a game is worth 2 points

* Ties (period or game) splits the points

* No team may pull their goaltender unless their team is tied or losing the current game and only in the 3rd period of that game.

 

Game 1 (Example)

* 1st Period: Team A scores 2 goals and Team B scores 1 goal. Team A wins the period and gets 1 point.

* 2nd Period: Team A scores 1 goal and Team B scores 1 goal. The period is tied and each team gets a ½ point.

* 3rd Period: Team A scores 1 goal and Team B scores 3 goals. Team B wins the period and gets 1 point.

Team B wins the game 5 - 4, and gets another 2 points for winning that game.

Game 1 totals:  Team A (1½ points). Team B (3½ points).


Game 2 (Example)

* 1st Period: Team A scores 3 goals and Team B scores 2 goals. Team A wins the period and gets 1 point.

* 2nd Period: No Scoring. The period is tied and each team gets a ½ point.

* 3rd Period: Team A scores 2 goals and Team B scores 2 goals. The period is tied and each team gets a ½ point.

Team A wins the game 5 - 4 and gets 2 points for winning that game.

Game 2 totals:  Team A (4 points). Team B (1 point).
